What is 2.5 Dimensional Seduction About?
2.5 Dimensional Seduction (Japanese: 2.5次元の誘惑（リリサ）, Nitengo-jigen no Ririsa, literally “2.5 Dimensional Lilysa”) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yu Hashimoto. The manga launched on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ website in June 2019. The anime television series adaptation, produced by J.C.Staff, aired from July to December 2024. A second season has already been announced.
The story revolves around Masamune Okumura, a second-year high school student and president of his school’s manga club. He considers himself an otaku with no interest in real girls, preferring his obsession with the fictional 2D manga character, Liliel.
Everything changes when Lilysa Amano, a passionate first-year student and cosplayer, joins the manga club. Lilysa recruits Okumura to be her photographer, and it turns out that her favorite character is also Liliel. As Okumura and Lilysa bond over their shared interests, the lines between the 2D and 3D worlds begin to blur, and Okumura finds himself falling in love with Lilysa, causing a conflict with his self-professed principles.
Adding another layer to the romantic comedy, Mikari Tachibana, Okumura’s childhood friend, enters the scene. Mikari, a model, decides to become a cosplayer herself to win Okumura’s heart.

Anime Production Details
