Satoshi Morie’s manga series, Killing Line, is set to conclude on May 30. This news marks the end of the thrilling and darkly comedic journey that began in June 2023, in Kodansha’s Be Love magazine.
What is Killing Line About?
Killing Line tells the story of Mako, a high school girl struggling to make ends meet after being abandoned by her father. She turns to “papa-katsu” (dating a sugar daddy) to survive. On her first night, her sugar daddy is murdered by a hitman. The hitman attempts to eliminate Mako as well but seems to recognize her. Mako must use her wits and charm to survive this deadly encounter. The manga follows Mako as she attempts to “melt the heart of a cold-blooded hitman”.
Kodansha describes the series as a “thrilling new black comedy with life-and-death stakes”. It is a blend of humor, suspense, and romance.
