The popular light novel series, “Heroine? Saint? No, I’m an All-Works Maid (And Proud of It)!” is being adapted into a TV anime series by EMT Squared. The announcement was made official with the opening of an official website and social media accounts.
A Maid’s Dream Come True: The Premise
Written by Atekichi and illustrated by Yukiko, the story began its journey on the user-generated novel website Shosetsuka ni Naro in February 2017. TO Books picked up the series in March 2020, publishing it under their TO Bunko label. The light novel series has also been adapted into a manga by Keiko, which began serialization in May 2021. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both the light novel and manga in English.
The story follows Melody, a reincarnated Japanese girl who dedicates her life to becoming the world’s most wonderful maid. She works for a poor count’s family in the kingdom of Théolas, using her skills and magic to improve their lives. Unbeknownst to Melody, she is actually the heroine (saint) of an otome game called “The Silver Saint and the Five Vows,” destined to save the world. However, she is more focused on her maid duties, leading to an unpredictable scenario in the game world.
The series has sold over 500,000 copies in total.
EMT Squared Takes the Helm
EMT Squared, the animation studio behind series like “Assassins Pride” and “I’m Quitting Heroing,” will be producing the anime adaptation.
Cast and Characters
The main cast has also been revealed:
- Yume Miyamoto will voice Melody Wave, the protagonist.
- Rumi Okubo will voice Luciana Ruttleberg, the daughter of a count.
A teaser visual has been released, featuring Melody preparing tea with Luciana in the background.
Author’s Delight
Atekichi, the author of the light novel, expressed their excitement about the anime adaptation: “The words ‘anime adaptation’ sound almost too good to be true. I always dreamed of ‘someday,’ and now that day has really come, I’m genuinely amazed. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported and encouraged the work. Melody loves maids. For that reason alone, I would be happy if everyone could watch over her as she pursues a wonderful maid life”.
