The highly anticipated second season of the anime Call of the Night is coming to HIDIVE this Summer. HIDIVE announced on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, that it will exclusively stream the second season of the television anime, based on Kotoyama’s manga of the same name.
Premiere Details
The new season will premiere in July 2025 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block and its affiliated channels throughout Japan, airing on Fridays at 11:30 p.m. JST (10:30 a.m. EDT). HIDIVE will simulcast the episodes as they air in Japan.
Anime Expo Sneak Peek
HIDIVE is offering fans an early treat with a sneak peek of the first half of the season’s second episode at Anime Expo on July 5, 2025, at 5:45 p.m. PDT. The panel will also feature a post-screening Q&A.
About Call of the Night
Call of the Night is a supernatural romance drama that follows Ko Yamori, a young boy struggling with insomnia and finding solace in nocturnal wanderings. He meets Nazuna Nanakusa, a free-spirited vampire who introduces him to the wonders of the night. Ko becomes fascinated with vampires and desires to become one himself, which requires him to fall in love with Nazuna.
Season 1 Recap
The first season of the anime adaptation premiered in July 2022 and ran for 13 episodes. HIDIVE streamed the anime with English subtitles as it aired in Japan and later debuted an English dub in September 2022.
What to Expect in Season 2
Season 2 will likely cover volumes 6-10 of the original manga, continuing the storyline from where season 1 concluded.
Staff and Cast
Tomoyuki Itamura returns to direct the second season at LIDEN FILMS, with Tetsuya Miyanishi as the chief director. Michiko Yokote is in charge of writing the scripts, and Haruka Sagawa is designing the characters.
