Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 continues to evolve, and the latest reveals have fans buzzing about the new outfits heading to the game. A recent video previewed the Outfit 3 DLC, showcasing fresh looks for returning characters, and the community is eager to customize their favorite fighters. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new, what’s coming, and how you can get your hands on these stylish additions.

What’s New in the Outfit 3 DLC?

The spotlight is currently on Outfit 3, which gives a makeover to characters added in Year 2. Specifically, the new DLC includes:

  • M. Bison: A new look for the iconic villain.
  • Terry Bogard: The Fatal Fury crossover character gets a fresh style.
  • Mai Shiranui: Another Fatal Fury favorite steps into the ring with a new costume.
  • Elena: Set to join the roster on June 5, 2025, Elena will also launch with her Outfit 3.

These outfits were revealed alongside the announcement of Street Fighter 6‘s release on the Nintendo Switch 2, also slated for June 5, 2025. The outfits will be available for purchase via the in-game store.

Release Date and Availability

Mark your calendars! The Outfit 3 DLC, featuring the new looks for M. Bison, Terry, Mai, and Elena, is scheduled to launch on June 5, 2025. This release coincides with the launch of Street Fighter 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2.

How to Unlock Costumes

There are a few ways to acquire new costumes in Street Fighter 6:

  1. Fighter Coins: This is the primary currency for unlocking outfits, stages, and other cosmetic items. Fighter Coins can be purchased with real money through the in-game store.

    • Prices for Fighter Coin packs vary. For example, 250 Fighter Coins might cost around $6.99 USD.
    • Keep an eye out for special bundles or yearly passes that offer better value if you plan to buy multiple items.
  2. World Tour Mode: Playing through the single-player World Tour mode allows you to unlock alternative outfits for characters by maximizing your friendship level with them. This involves completing friendship missions and giving them gifts.

  3. Drive Tickets: Drive Tickets are earned by completing daily, weekly, and monthly challenges and can be used to purchase cosmetic items and avatar gear in the Battle Hub.

  4. Fighting Pass: Purchasing the fighting pass can give you access to items that can be used in the fighting ground.

A History of Style: Previous Costume Sets

Capcom has been consistently adding new costumes to Street Fighter 6 since its launch.

  • Outfit 1 & 2: Most characters have had two outfits since the game’s launch, with the second outfit often unlockable through World Tour mode.
  • Costume Set 3: Released in December 2023, this set included new outfits for all 18 base characters, with some drawing inspiration from Street Fighter history. For example, Luke’s outfit was reminiscent of his Street Fighter 5 rookie look, while Cammy sported a red coat similar to the one she wore in the Street Fighter 2 animated movie.

Customization Beyond Costumes

Street Fighter 6 offers a wealth of customization options beyond just character costumes:

  • Avatar Creation: The World Tour and Battle Hub modes allow you to create a unique avatar. You can customize everything from body proportions to facial features.
  • Avatar Customization: Visit Body Shops in World Tour (Style Lab in Metro City or Dr. L’s Beauty Salon in Old Nayshall) to change your avatar’s appearance for a fee of 1,000 Zenny. In the Battle Hub, you can visit the Body Shop clerk Sylphy and pay 50 Drive Tickets.
  • Clothing and Gear: Apparel Stores in Metro City and Nayshall offer a variety of clothing options for your avatar in World Tour mode. These outfits can also affect your avatar’s stats.
  • Unlockables in World Tour: By progressing through World Tour, you can unlock additional customization options, such as new skin tones and hairstyles.

Community Reactions and Future Expectations

The announcement of new costumes has been met with enthusiasm from the Street Fighter 6 community. Players have been eagerly anticipating more customization options for the main roster characters.

Capcom has acknowledged the community’s requests for more outfits and has promised to release them gradually. They’ve also indicated that they’re reassessing the contents and frequency of Fighting Pass releases, with the goal of increasing the amount of items that can be used in the Fighting Ground mode.

Currencies in Street Fighter 6

Understanding the different currencies in Street Fighter 6 is key to getting the most out of the game’s customization options:

  • Fighter Coins (FC): The premium currency, purchased with real money, used to unlock outfits, stages, DLC characters, and Fighting Passes.
  • Drive Tickets: Earned through daily, weekly, and monthly challenges. Can be used to purchase cosmetic items and avatar gear in the Battle Hub.
  • Zenny: Earned in World Tour mode by completing quests and playing mini-games. Used to purchase food, gear, and customize avatars in World Tour.
  • Kudos: Earned through Battle Hub matches.

The Future of Fashion in Street Fighter 6

With Capcom’s commitment to releasing new costumes and ongoing updates to the Fighting Pass system, the future of fashion in Street Fighter 6 looks bright. Players can look forward to a steady stream of new looks for their favorite characters, as well as more ways to express their personal style through avatar customization.
