Get ready for more NEET antics! The fourth season of the popular anime series Mr. Osomatsu is set to premiere on July 8, 2025. A new promotional video has been released, offering a sneak peek at the upcoming season, including the theme songs.
What to Expect in Season 4
Mr. Osomatsu is based on Fujio Akatsuka’s classic gag manga Osomatsu-kun. The original series followed the Matsuno sextuplets as mischievous 10-year-olds. Mr. Osomatsu reimagines the brothers as adults – still NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), still virgins, but somehow still lovable. The anime is known for its over-the-top comedy, bizarre situations, and parodies of popular culture.
This season promises even more of the same chaotic energy, with the sextuplets getting into all sorts of trouble. A new teaser visual shows the brothers enjoying summer, hinting at potential beach trips, festivals, and other seasonal adventures.
Theme Songs Revealed
The promo video unveils the opening and ending theme songs for Season 4:
Opening Theme: “Osomatsu-san no Bomba Sheeh!” performed by DA PUMP. This high-energy track is a Japanese-language cover of a foreign song (the original song hasn’t been revealed yet). Rapper m.c.A.T., who produced DA PUMP early in their career, wrote the Japanese lyrics.
Ending Theme: “Buddy” performed by Hitomi from the band Atarayo and the Osomatsu sextuplets. Seiji Kameda, a renowned music producer, composed, arranged, and wrote the lyrics for the ending theme.
About the Music
Seiji Kameda shared his thoughts on the ending theme, “Buddy”: “The world that Akatsuka Fujio-sensei depicts acknowledges diversity, allows people to go beyond the boundaries, and always sides with the weak. That Akatsuka world has lived on in Mr. Osomatsu for over half a century. I wove the melody and words with my thoughts on each of the lovable sextuplets… ‘Buddy’ is my way of giving back to Akatsuka-sensei, who created my life.”
Hitomi (Atarayo) commented, “When I first heard about the project I was happy but also felt a bit of pressure, but with Kameda Seiji producing, we went through a lot of trial and error and created a wonderful song. I hope people will enjoy listening to the song along with the anime.”
Premiere Date and Where to Watch
Mr. Osomatsu Season 4 will premiere on July 8, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. JST (effectively July 9) on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu, before airing on other networks.

The Enduring Appeal of Mr. Osomatsu
The Mr. Osomatsu franchise has been a hit since its revival in 2015. The anime has spawned multiple seasons, films, and shorts. The appeal lies in its irreverent humor, relatable characters (despite their flaws), and its ability to poke fun at modern society. The show’s popularity has also been boosted by its strong fanbase, particularly among female anime fans.
