The upcoming anime adaptation of Ghost Mikawa’s light novel series, My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me! (Japanese: 友達の妹が俺にだけウザい, Tomodachi no Imōto ga Ore ni Dake Uzai), also known as ImoUza, has unveiled a brand-new teaser trailer and visual, stoking anticipation for its October 2025 premiere. The visual highlights Iroha’s playful and teasing nature, while also showcasing the core cast of the romantic comedy series.
What’s the Story?
The story revolves around Akiteru Ooboshi, a high school student who considers himself quite ordinary. His life takes an unexpected turn when he gets entangled with Iroha Kohinata, his best friend Ozuma’s younger sister. Iroha constantly teases and pesters Akiteru, turning his peaceful days into a series of “troublesome situations.” The plot thickens when Akiteru is tasked by his uncle to act as the boyfriend of his cousin, Mashiro Tsukinomori, in exchange for supporting his game development group, leading to even more complicated and humorous interactions.

- Ozuma is Iroha’s older brother and Akiteru’s best friend. He’s a kind and caring person, described as “beautiful like a prince,” and is a genius programmer.

- Sumire is Akiteru’s teacher, known for her ruthless guidance and sharp tongue. She secretly works as an illustrator under the pen name Shikibu Murasaki.

Light Novel and Manga
My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me! began as a light novel series written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Tomari. SB Creative has been publishing the series under their GA Bunko imprint since April 2019. As of March 2025, eleven volumes have been released. J-Novel Club licenses the light novel in North America.
A manga adaptation by Hira Hiraoka has been serialized in Square Enix’s Manga Up! online web service since December 2019. As of March 2025, nine tankobon volumes have been compiled. Comikey and Square Enix publish the manga in North America through the global version of Manga Up!.

A Long-Awaited Adaptation
The anime adaptation was first announced in January 2021, during a livestream for the “GA Fes 2021” event. After a few years of waiting, fans can finally look forward to the anime’s premiere in October 2025.
Plot Details
Akiteru is approached by his uncle with a proposition: he must pretend to be the boyfriend of his cousin, Mashiro Tsukinomori. In return, his uncle will provide support for Akiteru’s game development group. Akiteru accepts this proposition, leading to complications with Iroha, who relentlessly teases and bullies him. The story explores the dynamic between Akiteru, Iroha, Mashiro, and other girls who enter his life, creating a blend of comedy, romance, and slice-of-life situations.
