The anime adaptation of Norishiro-chan and Yukiji Setsuda’s manga series, “The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses” (Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime), has released its main promotional video, highlighting the opening theme song. The series is scheduled to premiere on July 5th and will be streamed on Crunchyroll worldwide as part of their Summer 2025 lineup.

New Trailer Features “Tenden Barabara”

The newly released trailer showcases the opening theme song “Tenden Barabara,” performed by Yoshino. Fans can now get a sneak peek of the music that will accompany the anime’s opening sequence.

Story Overview

“The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses” follows the story of Toto, a hero with exceptional skills but held back by his extreme shyness, which prevents him from forming a party. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is invited to join a party by three beautiful women: Ciel, Anemone, and Gore. Overjoyed at finally embarking on an adventure, Toto is unaware that these women harbor a secret desire to assassinate him. The series unfolds as a deadly harem rom-com, where the socially anxious hero must navigate the treacherous intentions of his companions.

Cast and Staff

The anime is being animated by Studio CONNECT, with Noriaki Akitaya serving as the director. The main voice cast includes:

  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Toto
  • Iori Saeki as Ciel
  • Hitomi Ueda as Anemone
  • Haruka Shiraishi as Gore

The series composition is being handled by Michiko Yokote, with Takao Sano as the character designer, and Shun Narita composing the music.

Ending Theme

Adding to the musical landscape of the anime, the ending theme song, “Sukimajikan,” will be performed by the voice actresses Iori Saeki, Hitomi Ueda, and Haruka Shiraishi. A preview video of the ending theme has also been released, giving fans a taste of what to expect.

Additional Information

The original manga series by Norishiro-chan and Yukiji Setsuda debuted in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion in 2022. As of April 2025, the series has 11 volumes.
