What is “Oblivion Battery” All About?
“Oblivion Battery” (Japanese: 忘却バッテリー, Hepburn: Bōkyaku Batterī) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eko Mikawa. It’s been serialized on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online manga app since April 26, 2018. As of December 4, 2024, 20 volumes have been released.
The story revolves around Haruka Kiyomine, a prodigious pitcher, and Kei Kaname, his cunning catcher, who were a legendary battery in middle school baseball. Their fearsome reputation caused many opponents, including Taro Yamada, to give up on baseball altogether.
However, fate has a funny way of working. Taro enrolls in Kotesashi High School, a school without a baseball club, hoping to leave his baseball past behind. To his surprise, he finds Haruka and Kei there, but with a twist: Kei has lost all his memories of playing baseball!
Taro and Haruka, determined to rekindle Kei’s love for the game, start a new baseball club and try to show him the joy of playing once more.
