The highly anticipated anime feature film “100 Meters” (Hyakuemu) has revealed ten additional voice cast members ahead of its nationwide release in Japan on September 19. The film, based on Uoto’s debut serialized manga, delves into the intense world of 100-meter sprint athletes and their profound obsession with the sport.

The newly announced cast brings a wealth of talent to the project, with many actors renowned for their roles in other popular anime series:

  • Jun Kasama as Nikami: A former middle school track star who becomes a high school teammate of protagonist Togashi. Kasama is known for voicing Hisashi Mitsui in “The First Slam Dunk”.
  • Rie Takahashi as Asakusa: A bright high school girl passionate about track who recruits Togashi to the school’s track team. Takahashi’s notable roles include Ai in “Oshi no Ko” and Megumin in “KONOSUBA”.
  • Yuki Tanaka as Shiina: A supportive team member who runs alongside Asakusa. Tanaka previously played Riri Takahashi in “Trillion Game”.
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Young Togashi: Portraying the protagonist during his elementary school years. Tanezaki is widely recognized as Anya Forger in “SPY×FAMILY” and Frieren in “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End”.
  • Aoi Yuki as Young Komiya: The elementary school version of the other protagonist, Komiya, whose obsession with the 100-meter sprint stems from a desire to escape a harsh reality. Yuki’s prominent roles include Mao Mao in “The Apothecary Diaries”.
  • Yuma Uchida as Kabaki: A promising young runner poised to lead the future of track and field. Uchida is known for his role as Haruka Sakura in “WIND BREAKER” and Sunraku in “Shangri-la Frontier”.
  • Junya Enoki as Numano: A cheerful and friendly member of Komiya’s high school track team. Enoki has voiced Nasa in “TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You”.
  • Haruki Ishiya as Kyoden: The team captain who secretly fears Komiya’s talent. Ishiya is known for voicing Jiro Yamada in “HYPNOSISMIC”.
  • Hiiro Ishibashi as Morikawa: A track athlete who idolizes Togashi. Ishibashi voiced Akatsuki Red in “Mr. Villain’s Day Off”.
  • Tomokazu Sugita as Onomichi: Nigami’s rival and longtime frenemy. Sugita’s roles include Taro Sakamoto in “SAKAMOTO DAYS”.

These actors join the previously announced main cast, which includes Tori Matsuzaka as Togashi, Shota Sometani as Komiya, Koki Uchiyama as Zaitsu, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Kaido. The film held its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 12 and is set to be distributed in North American theaters by GKIDS in October.

“100 Meters” is directed by Kenji Iwaisawa (“ON-GAKU: Our Sound”) at Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain studio, with Yasuyuki Mutō (“Tokyo Revengers”) handling the script. Keisuke Kojima serves as character designer and chief animation director, while Keikankun Yamaguchi is the art director. Hiroaki Tsutsumi is composing the music for the film. The story revolves around Togashi, a naturally gifted 100-meter runner, and Komiya, a determined transfer student who develops an obsession with the sprint after meeting Togashi. Years later, they reunite as rivals, revealing their true selves on the track.
