Aniplex has released the initial three minutes of footage from the first episode of the “Silent Witch” anime, based on Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi’s light novel series. This preview was part of a livestream event on Saturday, June 28, 2025, which also unveiled a new cast member and details about the opening theme song. The anime is set to premiere in Japan on July 4, 2025, broadcasting on channels such as Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11, and will also be available for streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll.
First Three Minutes and Plot Overview
The preview offers a glimpse into the anime’s beginning, primarily featuring the protagonist Monica Everett and a character named Annie, with a surprise appearance from Louis. The first episode’s synopsis reveals Monica Everett, known as the “Silent Witch” and one of the Seven Sages, lives a secluded life due to her extreme shyness, which led her to master “Voiceless Magic” to avoid public speaking. Despite her powerful magic, which allowed her to single-handedly defeat the legendary Black Dragon, she lacks self-confidence. Her quiet life is disrupted when Louis Miller, another member of the Seven Sages, visits her to request that she secretly guard the Second Prince, Felix Arc Ridill, who attends the prestigious Serendia Academy.

Ai Kayano has been announced as a new cast member, lending her voice to the character Claudia, described as a “walking library”. Opening Song Information
The opening theme song for the “Silent Witch” anime is titled “Feel” and is performed by the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku. The song is scheduled to begin streaming in Japan on July 4, 2025, coinciding with the anime’s television premiere. Hitsujibungaku will also perform the ending theme song, “mild days”.
The anime adaptation is produced by Studio Gokumi, with Takaomi Kanasaki serving as chief director, screenwriter, and script supervisor, and Yasuo Iwamoto as director. Cona Nitanda is responsible for character designs, while Cygames and Rina Tayama are composing the music. Yen Press publishes the original light novels, titled “Secrets of the Silent Witch,” in English.
