The Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter light novel series, which began serialization on the Kakuyomu website in October 2017, follows the story of Allen, a promising young sorcerer. After failing his final exam for a dream job at the royal court, Allen takes on a seemingly modest position as a private tutor to Tina, the daughter of Duke Howard, one of the kingdom’s most powerful nobles. Despite her academic brilliance, Tina is unable to cast spells, a significant hurdle with the Royal Academy’s entrance exams requiring magical aptitude fast approaching. The series explores Allen’s efforts to help Tina overcome her unique magical impairment, a mystery that even the kingdom’s most skilled sorcerers have been unable to solve.
