The expansive world of Golden Kamuy is set to grow further with the announcement of a new Blu-ray Disc anime, revealing three prominent voice cast members and an accompanying promotional advertisement. This original video animation (OVA) will be bundled with the franchise’s first official spin-off novel.
Detailed Overview of the Upcoming Anime
The new Golden Kamuy anime content is slated for release on October 17, 2025, as part of a limited edition bundle with the spin-off novel, Golden Kamuy: Tsurumi Tokushirō no Shukugan (Golden Kamuy: Tokushirō Tsurumi’s Aspiration). Penned by historical mystery writer Amon Ibuki, the novel delves into the various incidents experienced by Tsurumi and the 7th Division during the Russo-Japanese War.

- Kotono Mitsuishi is cast as O-gin (O-gin the Viper), portraying a deadly female bandit who forms a fearsome yet inseparable duo with Sakamoto. Yamadera expressed his delight in recording with Mitsuishi, noting, “The moment I heard Kotono Mitsuishi’s performance as Ogin in the studio, all my nerves disappeared and I thought, ‘Yes!’ It was a joy to record.” Mitsuishi, in turn, shared her passionate approach to the role, stating, “I set aside any notions of good and evil and threw myself into the role with a passionate and destructive energy. Being with Kei-san made everything feel truly blissful.”
- Ikue Ōtani will voice the adorable bird character, Shimaenaga, in the mini-episode dedicated to the Hokkaido Long-Tailed Snow Bird.
