The highly anticipated second season of the Call of the Night anime has officially announced that veteran voice actor Tomokazu Sugita will be joining its cast, alongside the confirmation that the popular hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts will once again perform the ending theme song. The new season is set to premiere on Friday, July 4, in Japan.
New Voices for the Nocturnal World
Tomokazu Sugita will lend his voice to the character LG, who is described as a follower of Midori Kohakobe. LG is identified as a plump vampire with round glasses who refers to himself as “washi,” and his name “LG” is an abbreviation of his handle name “LoveGreen.” Midori, another character, refers to him as “Love-kun.”
Beyond Sugita, other notable additions to the cast for Call of the Night Season 2 include Rina Satō as Kiku Hoshimi, a seductive woman who becomes involved with Ko’s friend Mahiru, and Maaya Uchida as Haru Nanakusa, a nurse who shares a resemblance to Nazuna Nanakusa.
The returning main voice cast includes Sora Amamiya as Nazuna Nanakusa, Gen Sato as Ko Yamori, Yumiri Hanamori as Akira Asai, Haruka Tomatsu as Seri Kikyo, Eri Kitamura as Niko Hirata, Shizuka Ito as Kabura Honda, Naomi Ozora as Midori Kohakobe, and Azumi Waki as Hatsuka Suzushiro.
Creepy Nuts: A Familiar Sound Returns
Creepy Nuts, the hip-hop duo known for their deep connection to the Call of the Night franchise, will perform the ending theme song for Season 2, titled “Nemure” (Sleep). This is not their only contribution to the new season, as they are also performing the opening theme song, “Mirage.” Both “Mirage” and “Nemure” were digitally released on July 4 and July 5, 2025, respectively.
The duo’s involvement runs deep, as the original manga, Yofukashi no Uta (Call of the Night), was named after their 2018 song of the same name, which also served as the first season’s ending theme. Creepy Nuts also performed the opening theme (“Daten”) and an insert song (“Lost Time”) for the first season. R-Shitei, a member of Creepy Nuts, shared that the inspiration behind “Nemure” stems from his personal experience as a child loving the night and his adult understanding as a parent.
