The upcoming anime film, titled Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! “Baka to SmaPho to Romance to” (Toi-san Wants to Enjoy Her Youth! “Fools, Smartphones and Romance”), based on Strawberry Prince member Jel’s popular “Toi-san” short comedy video series, recently unveiled a new teaser trailer that prominently features its eclectic cast of characters. Jel himself is deeply involved in the project, taking on roles in planning, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and character designing, in addition to voicing two central characters: himself and Akane Toi. The narrative centers on Akane Toi, a high school student who anticipates an ordinary school life until she encounters the unpredictable Jel. Their meeting soon draws her into the “Youth Romance Club,” a peculiar school organization dedicated to pursuing anything deemed “youthful” or “romantic.”
