The highly anticipated third season of the Record of Ragnarok anime, officially titled Record of Ragnarok III, has revealed a new key visual and announced additional voice cast members. The series is slated to debut exclusively on Netflix in December 2025.
New Visual and Premiere
A fresh key visual has been released, providing a glimpse into the upcoming battles of the gods versus humanity. The visual highlights fighters set to compete in the 7th, 8th, and 9th rounds of the climactic tournament. Fans can mark their calendars for December 2025, when the next installment of the epic battles will begin streaming worldwide.
The storyline for Season 3 will continue the intense one-on-one battles for humanity’s survival. It will feature the pivotal seventh battle, where the fate of the 3-3 tie between gods and humans hangs in the balance. Specifically, the anime will delve into the fight between Qin Shi Huang, the representative of humanity, and Hades, the representative of the gods, for Round 7. Subsequent rounds, including Nikola Tesla versus Beelzebub (Round 8) and King Leonidas versus Apollo (Round 9), will also be depicted.
Expanded Voice Cast
The new season introduces several prominent voice actors to bring key characters to life.
Nikola Tesla
Makoto Furukawa, known for his roles in various popular anime, will voice Nikola Tesla, the genius scientist representing humanity.
Beelzebub
Daisuke Namikawa joins the cast as the formidable Beelzebub, one of the divine combatants.
King Leonidas
The Spartan warrior King Leonidas will be voiced by Hiroshi Shirokuma.
Apollo
Kenichi Suzumura has been cast as the god Apollo.
Additionally, returning cast members include Kaito Ishikawa as Qin Shi Huang and Ryutaro Okiayu as Hades. Miyuki Sawashiro and Tomoyo Kurosawa will also reprise their roles as Brunhilde and Gel, respectively.
Behind the Scenes: Staff Changes
Record of Ragnarok III will see a significant shift in its production team, with several key staff members taking on new roles.
Direction
Koichi Hatsumi, recognized for his work on Tokyo Revengers, will now direct the anime. He takes over the directorial reins from Masao Okubo.
Series Composition and Script
Yasuyuki Mutō, known for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway and Tokyo Revengers, is the new main writer and will handle the series composition.
Character Design
Yōko Tanabe and Hisashi Kawashima are the new character designers for the season, taking over from Masaki Sato.
Music
Yasuharu Takanashi, who composed music for the previous seasons, will return to continue his role as the music composer.
Animation Production
The animation for Record of Ragnarok III will be handled by Yumeta Company and Maru Animation. While Yumeta Company co-produced the second season, Maru Animation’s involvement marks a change from the previous seasons which saw Graphinica credited for animation.
