Anime Synopsis
Tougen Anki delves into a world where the bloodlines of “Oni” (demons) and “Momotaro” have been in conflict for generations. The story follows Shiki Ichinose, a high school dropout who suddenly discovers his Oni lineage after an attack by a mysterious figure from the Momotaro side. This revelation thrusts him into a secret war, where he must master his newfound powers to seek revenge.
The manga, launched by Yura Urushibara in Akita Publishing’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in June 2020, has over 3 million copies in print. Yen Press began publishing the manga in English in September 2024. The anime will be available on Prime Video worldwide except in Japan and Mainland China, and on Netflix worldwide outside of Japan. Additionally, a mini companion anime titled Onimomomomo will be released weekly alongside the main episodes.
