The Magilumiere Co. Ltd. manga, written by Sekka Iwata and illustrated by Yū Aoki, is set to conclude with its next chapter, Chapter 160, on July 9. The announcement came with the release of Chapter 159 on July 2.
The series, known in English as Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. through Viz Media, has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service since October 2021. Viz Media and MANGA Plus both offer the manga in English.
Magilumiere Co. Ltd. follows the story of Kana Sakuragi, a college student struggling with job hunting who finds herself working for a magical girl startup company. The manga explores the profession of magical girls, who are tasked with exterminating creatures called “Kaii.”
As of June 2025, Shueisha has published 17 compiled book volumes of the manga in Japan, with the 17th volume released on June 4. Viz Media released the eighth physical volume in English on June 17, and the ninth volume is slated for release on August 19, 2025. The upcoming final volume in Japan, volume 18, is expected to cover chapters 152-160.
Despite the manga’s conclusion, the Magilumiere Co. Ltd. franchise continues to expand. An anime television series adaptation premiered in Japan in October 2024, with Amazon Prime Video streaming it globally. A second season of the anime has already been announced.
Fans have noted that recent chapters, including Chapter 159, have featured significant developments, such as a leap into the future, indicating the series was moving towards its endgame. The final chapter, Chapter 160, is expected to bring the narrative to a close after a run of nearly 160 chapters.
