The forthcoming anime adaptation of “Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring” has revealed a vibrant new summer visual and an accompanying promotional video. The update, unveiled on Monday, July 7, 2025, highlights the characters Ruri Hazakura, the Agent of Summer, and her bodyguard, Ayame Hazakura.
The newly released visual, set against a backdrop of a bright blue sky and lush greenery, depicts Ruri Hazakura surrounded by various animals as she evokes the essence of summer. This imagery offers a glimpse into the seasonal world of the anime, which is based on the popular light novel series written by Kana Akatsuki, renowned for “Violet Evergarden,” and illustrated by Suoh.
WIT Studio, known for its work on “Attack on Titan” and “SPY×FAMILY,” is producing the anime adaptation. The production staff includes Ken Yamamoto as director, with Kazuhiro Furuhashi serving as animation advisor. Ayumu Hisao is handling the series composition, and Namiko Torii is responsible for character designs. Other key staff members include Yusuke Takeda from Bamboo as art director and Ayaka Nakamura from WIT Studio for color design.
“Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring” delves into a world where special agents, bestowed with powers from the gods, regulate the cycle of the four seasons. The narrative begins with the disappearance of Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, a decade prior, leading to the absence of spring from the land. Her loyal bodyguard, Sakura Himedaka, has tirelessly sought her return. The story unfolds as Hinagiku unexpectedly reappears, embarking on a journey to restore spring and confront the lingering scars from her absence.
The light novel series, which commenced serialization under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko imprint in 2021, has gained significant recognition, topping Takarajimasha’s “Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!” guidebook’s New Title category in 2021. Yen Press has licensed the light novel for English release. A manga adaptation by Nappa Komatsuda has been ongoing in LaLa magazine since July 2022, with Yen Press also releasing the manga in English. While a spring-themed visual and announcement trailer were previously released on April 10, 2025, the latest summer visual and video mark a new progression in the anime’s promotional cycle. As of the current announcements, a specific release date for the anime has yet to be confirmed.
