The ongoing anime series Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho has recently expanded its roster of voice actors and introduced new musical artists for its theme songs, coinciding with the progression into new story arcs.
New Additions to the Cast
The anime has continually brought in new talent to voice its growing cast of characters. For the Edo arc, which commenced with episode 2, several notable voice actors joined the production. These include Hiromu Mineta as Zenji, Masaki Aizawa as Juzo, Yoji Ueda as the Kihei Restaurant Owner, Ai Kayano as Ofu, Seiichiro Yamashita as Naotsugu Miura, Hitomi Nabatame as Yotaka, and Koji Yusa as Somegoro Akitsu.
Prior to the anime’s premiere on March 31, Kentaro Kumagai, known for his role as Laios in Delicious in Dungeon, was cast as Kiyomasa, a priestess bodyguard. Haruka Shamoto also joined the cast as Chitose, whose family owns the village’s teahouse and was the first friend made by Suzune in the village.
Further expanding the cast for the Bakumatsu arc, beginning with episode 14, are Toshihiko Seki as Yasuhide Hatakeyama, Kenichiro Matsuda as Tsuchiura, and Kazuya Nakai as Kiichi Okada.
For Western audiences, HIDIVE announced the English dub cast, which premiered on June 4. The main English voice actors include Aaron Campbell as Jinta/Jinya, Donna Bella Litton as Byakuya, and Juliet Simmons as Suzune. Additional English cast members include Chaney Moore as Young Jinta, Shanae’a Moore as Shirayuki, Alyssa Marek as Miyaka, Luis Galindo as Chieftan, Kristen McGuire as Chitose, Molly Searcy as Foresight Demon, John Gremillion as Jyuuzou, Jeremy Gee as Kiyomasa, Sean Patrick Judge as Motoharu, Cyrus Rodas as Assimilation Demon, and Christie Guidry as Chitose’s Mother. Annie Wild, Ellen Evans, John Swasey, Kyle Colby Jones, and David Lascoe provide additional voices.
New Theme Song Artists Revealed
The Sword of the Demon Hunter anime has featured distinct musical artists for its opening and ending themes. The initial opening theme song is “Continue,” performed by the Japanese rock band NEE. The original ending theme song, titled “Senya Ichiya” (One Thousand and One Nights), is performed by Hilcrhyme featuring Izumi Nakasone from HY.
As the series transitions into the Bakumatsu arc with episode 14, new theme songs have been introduced. The new opening song for this arc is “Ash” by [Alexandros], while FAKE TYPE is performing the new ending song, “Enrin”.
