Season 4 Overview
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 continues the journey of Naofumi Iwatani as he prepares for the Phoenix’s return. The season is expected to cover the Siltvelt Succession Arc, which begins around Volume 13 of the original light novels. Raphtalia will find herself in a precarious situation, mistaken for a throne usurper by assassins from Q’ten Lo. This leads Naofumi to travel to Siltvelt, where he is revered as a demi-human savior, while Raphtalia becomes a symbol of revolution for the volatile Q’ten Lo.
The anime season will consist of 12 episodes, with new episodes releasing weekly on Wednesdays. Hitoshi Haga returns as director for Kinema Citrus, with Keigo Koyanagi overseeing the series scripts. Character designs are handled by Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa, all returning from the third season. Kevin Penkin is back to compose the music, joined by sub-composers Alfredo Sirica and Natalie Jeffreys.
