Miyu Irino and Megumi Han Join Latest Digimon Series
The upcoming anime series Digimon Beatbreak has officially announced its lead voice cast, with renowned voice actors Miyu Irino and Megumi Han taking on key roles. The highly anticipated addition to the beloved Digimon franchise is set to premiere in October 2025.
Miyu Irino will voice the protagonist, Tomorō Tenma, a 15-year-old high school student. Irino is a prolific voice actor known for a wide range of roles, including Haku in Spirited Away, Sora in the Kingdom Hearts video game series, Shoya Ishida in A Silent Voice, and Kōshi Sugawara in Haikyuu!!. He has previously had a role in the Digimon franchise as Monzaemon in an episode of Digimon Ghost Game. Irino expressed his excitement about voicing the protagonist of a Digimon series, recalling its significant role in his childhood and hoping to evoke similar thrill in new and veteran fans alike.
Joining Irino is Megumi Han, who will portray Tomorō’s partner Digimon, Gekkomon, a reptile-type, Data-species Digimon in its growth stage. Megumi Han is celebrated for her roles as Gon Freecss in Hunter x Hunter, Kana Arima in Oshi no Ko, and Akko Kagari in Little Witch Academia. A self-professed long-time Digimon fan, Han shared that it has been a dream to voice a partner Digimon, seeing it as an opportunity to contribute back to the franchise and its dedicated fanbase. She previously voiced characters like Takeru in various Digimon Adventure content, Nokia in Cyber Sleuth, and Airu in Hunters.
Digimon Beatbreak is produced by Toei Animation and marks the latest television series in the long-running Digital Monster franchise, which began with Digimon Adventure in 1999. Further details regarding the plot and additional staff are expected to be revealed closer to the anime’s debut. The series was first announced during Digimon Con 2025, where a teaser trailer was also unveiled, hinting at “Emotion-devouring Digital Lifeforms” as a tagline for the new show.
