Season 4 Overview
The fourth season continues Naofumi Iwatani’s journey as the Shield Hero. As he prepares for the return of the Phoenix, Raphtalia becomes a target for assassins from Q’ten Lo, who mistake her for a throne usurper. This leads Naofumi to Siltvelt, where he is revered by demi-humans, though not universally welcomed. The plot for Season 4 will see Raphtalia becoming a symbol of revolution in the politically charged Q’ten Lo, forcing Naofumi to unite his allies amidst growing chaos.
The series is directed by Hitoshi Haga at Kinema Citrus, with Keigo Koyanagi handling series composition. Character designs are managed by Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa, and the music is composed by Kevin Penkin, alongside Alfredo Sirica and Natalie Jeffreys. The original light novels, written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Seira Minami, are published in English by One Peace Books.
