Kadokawa has announced the English publication of three new manga titles: The Killer Cutie Next Door, Flirting with a Faux Tyrant in the Entertainment Biz, and From Bullied to Brawler: My After-Hours Education with the School’s Tough Girls. These titles are being released in English on the BookWalker Global site and other digital storefronts starting in July.
The Killer Cutie Next Door
The Killer Cutie Next Door (original Japanese title: Tonari no Koroshiya-chan) by Jay Kato is set to debut in chapter format on BookWalker Global on July 12. The story follows Ako Yamada, a former member of a notorious assassin organization named “Orochi,” who is now attempting to live a normal life working at a bakery. Despite her past as a ruthless hitman, Ako is incredibly clumsy in everyday life. Her peaceful new existence is threatened when Nono Morino, a high school girl fascinated by urban legends, visits the bakery, and members of Ako’s former organization also begin to pursue her. The series originally launched in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine and on the Comic Walker platform in January 2024, with the first compiled Japanese volume shipping in August 2024.
Flirting with a Faux Tyrant in the Entertainment Biz
Flirting with a Faux Tyrant in the Entertainment Biz (original Japanese title: Bijinesu Boukun to Mezasu Happiiendo) by Takarano Island will launch exclusively on BookWalker Global in chapter format on July 18, with other stores to follow. The first four chapters will be available for free for the initial three months. This manga centers on Misora Kikuna, a 30-year-old office worker and producer of the romance visual game “Nanairo no tsuki” (Seven-Colored Moon). After a fatal car accident involving an idol group whose song is featured in her game, Misora is reincarnated into the world of “Nanairo no Tsuki” as Sophia, the game’s villainess. To her surprise, her fiancé in this new world, Eraldo, bears a striking resemblance to her favorite idol, L Myourenji, who has also been reincarnated as the villain prince. The series began on the Comic Walker platform and Nico Nico Seiga in January 2024, and the second compiled Japanese volume was released on November 14.
From Bullied to Brawler: My After-Hours Education with the School’s Tough Girls
From Bullied to Brawler: My After-Hours Education with the School’s Tough Girls (original Japanese title: Hōkago wa Kenka Saikyō no Gyaru ni Tsurekomareru Seikatsu) by Aitsu and Takao Aoyagi will also be released in English on BookWalker Global in chapter format, with releases beginning on Monday. The story follows Shiki, a shy and academically inclined student who enrolls in the reputationally problematic St. Lukeman’s Academy. Targeted by delinquents, Shiki finds himself in a difficult situation until he helps a girl escaping a group of bullies. He is then rescued by Karin, the “Empress” of the school—its strongest and most beautiful girl—who offers to teach him how to fight in exchange for tutoring her in academics. The original web novel by Aitsu launched in October 2022, with the third volume shipping in April 2024. The manga adaptation by Takao Aoyagi began in Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Age magazine in February 2024, and its second compiled Japanese volume was released on March 7.
