The manga adaptation of Saki Ichibu’s light novel series, “Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke,” has gone on hiatus. The pause in serialization is due to the manga’s creator, Ushio Shirotori, recovering after the birth of her second child. Shirotori announced the hiatus on her X/Twitter account, expressing an expectation to have recovered by winter.
The manga, which launched on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website in September 2020, has seen its seventh compiled book volume published in Japan on April 15. Tokyopop releases the manga in English, with its sixth volume published on June 10.
“Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke” tells the story of Claire Martino, who loses her privileged life, including a fiancé and inherited magic, due to her half-sister. As the disgraced daughter of a duke, Claire embarks on a journey of self-discovery, only to realize her life mirrors the challenging route of an otome game called “NEW START ♡ ETERNAL LOVE.”
The original light novel series, written by Saki Ichibu, began serialization on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in March 2020 and concluded in May 2020. Mag Garden published the first print volume with illustrations by Nemusuke in December 2020, and the fifth volume shipped in June 2024. J-Novel Club is responsible for the English release of the novels, with the fifth volume released on June 27.
