The official second trailer for the highly anticipated Odekake Kozame anime film has been released, revealing the film’s theme song and announcing several new additions to its voice cast. The movie is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on August 22, 2025.
Lozareena to Perform Theme Song
The newly unveiled trailer features the film’s main theme song, titled “Watashi no Machi” (My Town), performed by Lozareena. This marks a significant reveal, as previous iterations of the Odekake Kozame anime, a web series that ran from August 2023 to May 2024, featured “Yorimichi” (Detour) by Kana Hanazawa, who also voices the titular character, Kozame-chan.
New Voice Cast Members Revealed
The second trailer also expanded the roster of voice actors joining the Odekake Kozame film. These new cast members include:

Toshiya Miyata as Big Brother Salaryman, Akira Takano as Mr. Bartender, and Kazuto Mokudai as Mr. Host were also previously revealed.
Film’s Production and Plot Details
The Odekake Kozame film, officially titled Eiga Odekake Kozame Tokai no Otomodachi (Film Little Shark’s Outings: The City’s Friend), is based on Penguin Box’s Odekake Kozame manga series. The movie continues the adventures of the young shark, Kozame-chan, as she embarks on a trip to the bustling city after being captivated by a glittering poster.
The film is directed by Chihiro Kumano at ENGI, with Hiroaki Nagashima writing the script. Ayumi Takeuchi is responsible for character designs, Kisuke Koizumi serves as sound director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa is composing the music. Kadokawa is producing the film, with Kadokawa Animation handling distribution.
The original Odekake Kozame manga debuted on X (formerly Twitter) in June 2021, and its latest compiled volume, the sixth, shipped in Japan in December 2024. The manga is known for its nostalgic portrayal of a young shark’s everyday adventures.
