Crunchyroll has officially announced that the English dub for the second season of the popular anime series A Couple of Cuckoos will begin streaming on Tuesday, July 22. The new season, which introduces a “love pentagon” to Nagi’s already complex romantic life, will feature many returning voice actors, ensuring continuity for fans of the English adaptation.

Fans will be pleased to know that the main English voice cast from the first season of A Couple of Cuckoos is reprising their roles for the upcoming second season. Nicholas Andrew Louie will once again voice the protagonist Nagi Umino, with Lindsay Sheppard returning as Erika Amano. AmaLee is back as Hiro Segawa, and Bryn Apprill will voice Sachi Umino.

A Couple of Cuckoos is based on the manga series by Miki Yoshikawa. The story follows Nagi Umino, a high school student who discovers he was swapped at birth with another child. He is then arranged to be married to Erika Amano, the girl he was swapped with, leading to a complicated living situation and a burgeoning love quadrangle.
The anime’s second season, which first premiered in Japan on July 8 on Tokyo MX and other channels, features a mostly new staff and studio. Masakazu Hishida is the new director at studio Okuru to Noboru, with Kyoko Chika as the new character designer. Rei Ishizuka returns to compose the music. The second season introduces Ai Mochizuki, voiced by Hina Yomiya in the Japanese version, adding a new dynamic to the romantic entanglements. The opening theme song for the new season, “Kimi ga Kureta mono” (What You Gave Me), is performed by asmi, and 22/7 performs the ending theme song “Anata de Nakucha” (It Has to be You).
