The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! (Mushoku no Eiyū: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakattan da ga) has announced four additional cast members as it gears up for its October 2025 premiere. The fantasy light novel adaptation, produced by Studio A-CAT, previously revealed its main cast and is set to bring the unique story of Arel to life.
Key Cast Additions Enhance Ensemble
The latest announcement confirms four new voice actors joining the previously revealed main cast. These additions will further flesh out the world of Hero Without a Class, which follows Arel, a young man born without a class or skills in a world where they are paramount.
The newly announced cast members include:
- Kenshō Ono as Allele
- Saori Hayami as Laina
- Sumire Uesaka as Lilia
- Rumi Ōkubo as Kufa
These actors join a production team that includes Kaoru Yabana as director, Chabo Higurashi handling series composition and scripts, and Kento Asahina composing the music. Hiroto Morishita is the sound director.
Anime Set for October 2025 Debut
The Hero Without a Class anime is slated to begin broadcasting in Japan in October 2025. While an exact premiere date has not yet been revealed, it has been confirmed that the series will air on television and stream on d Anime Store in Japan. HIDIVE has licensed the series for streaming in North America and will also host the world premiere of the first episode at Anime NYC, scheduled for August 21–24 in New York City.
The opening theme song, “Reincarnation,” will be performed by Kaya, while Utahime Dream All Stars will perform the ending theme, “Kiseki Nanka Iranai” (I Don’t Need Something Like a Miracle).
Story Synopsis and Source Material
Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! originates from a light novel series written by Shichio Kuzu and illustrated by Yumehito Ueda. The story centers on Arel, the son of the “Sword Princess” and “Archmage Leon,” who, despite his lineage, is born “Classless” in a world where everyone receives a class and skills at age ten. Despite this initial setback, Arel strives to become a hero through hard work and cunning, developing his own unique strengths.
The light novel series first began as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in November 2017. Earth Star Entertainment later published it as a light novel, with four volumes released between July 2018 and June 2019. A manga adaptation by Akio Nanae has been serialized in Comic Earth Star since November 2018, with nine tankobon volumes released as of March 2025. One Peace Books publishes the manga adaptation in English.
