Manga creator Tsukasa Hazumi launched a new series titled With U ~Katawara ni Kasuka ni Hisomu Mono~ (With U ~Something Lurks Faintly Nearby~) on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website on Friday, August 8, 2025. The debut saw the immediate release of its first two chapters, introducing readers to an occult horror narrative centered around supernatural incidents and a clandestine organization dedicated to resolving them.
Delving into the Darkness: The Premise of “With U”
The story of With U kicks off when the protagonist, Susumu Sakane, is attacked by a supernatural entity during a visit to a shrine with a friend. His perilous encounter leads to his rescue by an enigmatic organization simply called “With U,” which specializes in tracking and eliminating supernatural phenomena. The manga is set to explore the eerie world of occult horror as Sakane becomes entangled with this secret group.
Tsukasa Hazumi’s Previous Works and Style
Tsukasa Hazumi is known for their distinctive storytelling, and With U marks their latest venture into the manga world. Prior to this launch, Hazumi serialized The Wind That Reaches the Ends of the World (Sekai no Hate ni mo Kaze wa Fuku) on the same Mag Comi platform. A one-shot chapter for The Wind That Reaches the Ends of the World was published in September 2019, followed by its full serialization from June 2020 to August 2022. Mag Garden released two compiled book volumes for the series, with J-Novel Club handling the English release, the second volume of which was made available in January 2024. While With U ventures into the “occult horror” genre, Hazumi’s previous work suggests a nuanced approach to narrative and character development.
