The upcoming You and Idol Precure♪ the Movie has announced that comedian Atsuhiro Tsuda of the duo Diane will voice Totto, an original character in the film. The film, officially titled Eiga Kimi to Idol Precure♪ Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru Kirakki Live!, is set to premiere on September 12.
Tsuda’s character, Totto, is the chairman of the organizing committee for the Super Miracle Idol Festival, a central event in the movie’s plot. This announcement adds to the previously revealed new cast members, Maaya Uchida as Tera and Ayane Sakura as Amas.
Expanding the Precure Cinematic Universe
The You and Idol Precure♪ the Movie is the cinematic adaptation of the 22nd main anime entry in the long-running Precure franchise, which premiered its television series on February 2. The film’s narrative unfolds on Aiai Island, serving as the vibrant backdrop for the Super Miracle Idol Festival, described as the universe’s #1 idol festival. A key plot point will involve the protagonist, Uta, encountering Tera, a mysterious red-haired girl who expresses disdain for idols.
A Star-Studded New and Returning Cast
The film brings together the established voice cast of the You and Idol Precure television series with new additions. Misato Matsuoka stars as Cure Idol/Uta Sakura, joined by Minami Takahashi as Cure Wink/Nana Aokaze and Natsumi Takamori as Cure Kyun-Kyun/Kororo Shigure. The five Precure girls, voiced by their respective cast members, will perform the movie’s theme song, “♪HiBiKi Au Uta♪”.
In a treat for longtime fans of the franchise, the movie is also confirmed to feature appearances from characters from the preceding two main anime entries, Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure and Wonderful Precure!.

The You and Idol Precure television anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, which describes the series as following middle school student Uta Sakura, whose love for singing leads her to become the legendary protector Cure Idol after meeting a fairy named Purirun and discovering her hometown threatened by the Chokkiri Gang.
