The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Hiromu and raemz’s popular light novel series, “Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle” (Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka), has released its first teaser promotional video. The reveal, which includes new character voices and animation cuts, also confirmed an October 2025 premiere for the romantic comedy series. The newly released teaser video offers fans their first listen to the anime’s character voices and showcases numerous new animation cuts, bringing the vibrant world of the light novel to life. The series is set in Fukui Prefecture and is described as an emotional coming-of-age story that highlights high school life against the backdrop of local scenery. The plot centers on Saku Chitose, a highly popular student at Fujishi High School, the prefecture’s top preparatory school. With excellent academic, athletic, and communication skills, Saku is admired by many. In his second year, he is tasked with convincing a withdrawn student to return to school.
Key Staff and Voice Cast Revealed
Studio feel. is handling the animation production for “Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle”. Yuji Tokuno, known for his work as a storyboard artist and episode director on “Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2” and “OSHI NO KO”, is directing the series. Naruhisa Arakawa, who has worked on “More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers”, is serving as the series screenwriter and co-scriptwriter alongside the original author, Hiromu. Sumie Kinoshita, recognized for her character designs in “Spy Classroom”, is designing the characters for the anime.

“Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle” originated as a romantic comedy light novel series written by Hiromu and illustrated by raemz. It first began publication by Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint in June 2019, and as of August 2024, it has released nine volumes, including a short story collection. The series has garnered significant attention, with the government of Fukui budgeting 6 million yen in 2022 for a pop-culture tourism campaign in collaboration with the light novel.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Bobcat, was serialized on Square Enix’s Manga UP! website from April 2020 to February 2025, concluding with seven tankobon volumes. Both the light novel and manga series are released in English by Yen Press in North America.
Upcoming Screenings
Further building anticipation, advance screenings of the anime’s first episode are scheduled to be held in September in both Fukui, where the anime is set, and in Tokyo. The full series is slated to debut in October 2025.
