The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Leeanne M. Krecic’s popular webcomic “Let’s Play” has officially announced 11 additional cast members, revealed its theme song artists, and set its television premiere for October 1, 2025. The romantic comedy series will air in Japan on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block, with Crunchyroll slated to stream the anime globally.
The announcements were made during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at Anime NYC 2025, where a new trailer and key visual were also unveiled.
Expanding the “Let’s Play” Voice Cast
Adding depth to the already announced main cast, eleven new voice actors have joined the “Let’s Play” anime. These additions will bring to life several key characters from Sam Young’s world.
The newly announced cast members include:

- Mie Sonozaki as Monica McKenzie
- Hiroshi Watanabe as Dallas Hudson
- Kengo Tsujii as Abe Calhoun

- Sumire Morohoshi as Lucy Wright
- Tasuku Hatanaka as Umed Patel
- Mitsuki Saiga as Dee Parker
- Kenta Miyake as Samuel A. Young
These voice actors join the previously announced main cast: Kana Hanazawa as protagonist Sam Young, Shimba Tsuchiya as Marshall Law, Yuichi Nakamura as Charles Jones, and Tomokazu Sugita as Link Hudson.
Theme Song Artists Revealed
Renowned singer-songwriter Toshinobu Kubota will perform both the opening and ending theme songs for “Let’s Play.” The opening theme is titled “1, 2, Play,” while the ending theme is “Left & Right.” This marks Kubota’s first time performing anime theme songs in approximately 30 years.
Additionally, the in-universe game “Ruminate,” created by protagonist Sam Young, will feature a main theme by Korean producer and DJ Night Tempo, a re-edited version of Mariya Takeuchi’s “Plastic Love.”
October 1st TV Debut and Streaming Details
“Let’s Play” is set to premiere on October 1, 2025, in Japan, airing on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block. The broadcast time will be 24:45 JST, which effectively translates to October 2 at 12:45 a.m. JST. Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the series globally as it airs in Japan.
Production Team and Webcomic Background
The anime is being directed by Daiki Tomiyasu (“Pokémon Sun & Moon”) at Studio OLM (“Pokémon,” “The Apothecary Diaries”). Aya Matsui (“Marmalade Boy”) is handling the series composition, with Ebimo (“High Card”) providing the character design concept, and Saki Ebisawa (“Pokémon Journeys: The Series” key animator) adapting the character designs for animation. The music for the series is being composed by Conisch (“Recovery of an MMO Junkie”). Slow Curve is in charge of planning and production.
The “Let’s Play” webcomic by Leeanne M. Krecic (also known as Mongie) launched on WEBTOON in 2016. The romantic comedy, which follows game developer Sam Young’s professional and romantic life, garnered over 900 million views and more than 6.8 million subscribers worldwide across various platforms. After three seasons, Krecic announced in 2022 that the comic would move from WEBTOON due to various platform difficulties, with plans to continue Season 4 on a different platform in Fall 2025. Rocketship Entertainment currently publishes the comic in English.
