Yūya Kanzaki’s manga series, Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi (This is a Town Where Families Disappear), will move from Shueisha’s Grand Jump Mucha magazine to Grand Jump, with its debut in the latter’s 22nd issue on October 15. The announcement was made in this year’s September issue of Grand Jump Mucha magazine.
From Grand Jump Mucha to Grand Jump
The transfer marks a new chapter for the manga, which only recently debuted in Grand Jump Mucha on April 23. Shueisha is set to release the first compiled book volume of Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi on October 15, coinciding with its move to the new publication.
About Grand Jump
Grand Jump is a Japanese biweekly seinen manga magazine published by Shueisha, known for its focus on mature audiences. It was established in July 2011 through the merger of Business Jump and Super Jump magazines, a decision driven by the “changing environment for seinen manga and the changing tastes of readers.” The magazine publishes twice a month and features a variety of series, including some that have moved from other Shueisha imprints like Grand Jump Premium (which was rebranded as Grand Jump Mucha in 2018). This move for Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi follows a precedent of Shueisha titles transitioning between their various Jump line magazines.
Further details regarding the narrative of Koko wa Kazoku ga Kieru Machi and the reasons behind its swift transition to Grand Jump are anticipated with its upcoming release in the new magazine.
