Kadokawa’s Comic Gene magazine announced last Friday that the “Toxic-a-Holic” multimedia franchise, a collaboration between Kadokawa and Earth Star Entertainment, is set to receive a manga spinoff titled Toxic-a-Holic Alternate Episode. The new manga is scheduled to debut in the magazine’s upcoming issue on October 15.
The manga will be drawn by Shinki, with Teiko Sasaki credited for composition, and will feature a color opening page.
Understanding the “Toxic-a-Holic” Franchise
Launched in November 2024, the “Toxic-a-Holic” franchise revolves around “toxic boys”—individuals who contain toxic and poisonous substances. Humanity enlists these boys to combat a mysterious invading entity known as “void.” Despite their crucial role, the “toxic boys” face an image problem. To counter this, the Tokyo branch of their organization produces public relations videos to boost their popularity.
The franchise has been building momentum since its inception, with a character song album, “Toxic-a-Holic Character Song Album ‘Vox Venena Vo.1’,” released on September 24, 2025. The album features popular male voice actors and trending artists. Furthermore, a pop-up shop for the franchise was held in Ikebukuro P’PARCO from April 19 to April 30, 2025, offering exclusive character goods and bonuses. An event titled “Toxic-a-Holic Fan Party” was also announced, with ticket lotteries held earlier this year for June and May events.
The Creative Team Behind the Manga
Shinki is taking on the role of drawing the Toxic-a-Holic Alternate Episode manga. Teiko Sasaki, who is handling the composition, has prior experience in the manga industry, with their manga Kissing having been published in English by Digital Manga Publishing in 2006.
The expansion into manga signifies a new chapter for the “Toxic-a-Holic” project, aiming to further explore its unique premise and characters within the popular comic medium.
