Manga creator Kengo Kaji and artist Hinden Hidaka have officially launched a new “erotic suspense” manga titled Mrs. Akechi (Akechi Fujin), with its first two chapters now available on Kodansha’s Morning two online magazine. The series was revealed in this year’s 42nd issue of Kodansha’s Morning magazine on Thursday.
Unveiling the Mystery of Mrs. Akechi
The new manga centers on Fumiyo Akechi, the wife of the renowned Japanese mystery character Kogoro Akechi. The narrative plunges into a world of intrigue and danger when Kogoro Akechi mysteriously disappears, coinciding with the onset of a series of serial murders targeting women. At the heart of the investigation is Fumiyo herself, who harbors a dark and compelling past: she was raised by a notorious serial killer known only as the “Magician.” This background promises to add a unique and complex layer to her role in solving the unfolding mysteries.
The Creative Minds Behind the Series
Kengo Kaji is handling the writing for Mrs. Akechi, while Hinden Hidaka is responsible for the artwork. Kaji is known for his previous works, including the Lycanthrope Leo manga, which was published by Viz Media. He also contributed to the anime landscape by writing for Madhouse’s Wolverine and Iron Man: Rise of Technovore animated features.
