The latest trailer provides an exciting glimpse into the narrative, showcasing the main human characters and their Digimon partners, alongside thrilling action sequences. A New Era for the Digital Monsters Franchise
Digimon Beatbreak marks the latest installment in the long-running Digimon franchise, following in the footsteps of previous series like Digimon Adventure (2020) and Digimon Ghost Game (2021). The anime introduces a fresh storyline centered around “e-Pulse,” an energy source generated by human thoughts and emotions. This energy powers AI support devices called “Sapotama” but also leads to the emergence of terrifying Digimon that consume e-Pulse.
The protagonist, Tomoro Tenma, a 15-year-old high school freshman, finds himself drawn into an extraordinary adventure after encountering Gekkomon, a Reptile-type Data Digimon, who mysteriously appears from his Sapotama device. Tomoro then joins a bounty hunting team known as “Glowing Dawn” (originally “Golden Dawn”), working alongside characters like Kyo Sawashiro. Together, they navigate a world where the bond between humans and Digimon will forge a new future.
The Creative Team Behind “Digimon Beatbreak”
Toei Animation is producing the series, with Hiroaki Miyamoto directing the anime. Ryota Yamaguchi is handling the series composition, while Takahiro Kojima is responsible for character designs. Veteran Digimon designer Kenji Watanabe is credited for the Digimon designs, and Arisa Okehazama is composing the music.
The voice cast for the main characters includes Miyu Irino as Tomoro Tenma and Megumi Han as Gekkomon. Other cast members include Tomoyo Kurosawa as Reina Sakuya, Mutsumi Tamura as Pristimon, Arisa Sekine as Makoto Kuonji, Misaki Kuno as Chiropmon, Yohei Azakami as Kyo Sawashiro, and Daiki Hamano as Murasamemon.
MADKID’s “Mad Pulse” Sets the Tone
The opening theme, “Mad Pulse” by MADKID, has been described as an aggressive and high-energy track that immediately immerses viewers into the new series with its strong drum sounds. MADKID is known for their previous work on anime opening themes, including for The Rising of the Shield Hero. The ending theme, “beat up,” will be performed by Ai Tomioka, featuring strong guitar sounds and emotional vocals that convey a message of moving forward with self-belief.
As the Digimon franchise continues its 25th-anniversary celebrations, Digimon Beatbreak is poised to deliver a fresh and exciting adventure, expanding the Digital World with new characters, a compelling storyline, and vibrant music.
