About Dusk Beyond the End of the World
Dusk Beyond the End of the World is an original television anime series from the renowned studio P.A. Works, produced for its 25th anniversary. The series officially premiered on September 26, 2025, on the “Super Animeism Turbo” programming block on MBS and TBS, with the first full episode scheduled to air the following week on October 2. HIDIVE is exclusively streaming the anime as it airs in North America, having already hosted the world premiere of the first two episodes at Anime NYC on August 24.
The narrative plunges viewers into a world grappling with significant societal shifts, including evolving AI and changes to traditional institutions like marriage. The story centers on Akira, a male high school student who awakens 200 years in the future after being in cold sleep, only to find a war-ravaged world. He encounters an android named Yugure, who strikingly resembles his girlfriend Towasa, and embarks on a journey to find her in this new reality, which is governed by a unified organization called OWEL and a new system known as “Elsie” or “LC.”
Naokatsu Tsuda (known for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) is directing the anime and overseeing the series scripts. Uru performs the opening theme song, titled “Platform.”
Hana Hope’s Contributions to the Series
