Lucasfilm has officially dropped the trailers for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, showcasing both its original Japanese and English dubbed voice casts ahead of its highly anticipated Disney+ premiere on October 29, 2025. This third installment of the critically acclaimed animated anthology series will feature nine new anime-inspired shorts from nine distinct Japanese animation studios, returning to the format of its inaugural volume.
The trailers provide a vibrant glimpse into the diverse animation styles and compelling new narratives, as well as continuations of fan-favorite stories, that fans can expect.
Galactic Voices: Japanese Cast Revealed
The original Japanese language cast features a robust lineup of talent, with several names specifically highlighted during a preview reel at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025. Confirmed voice actors include Ami Maeshima, Yasuko Hatori, Takako Honda, Yume Miyamoto, Makoto Koichi, and Chinatsu Akasaki. Additional Japanese cast members appearing across the various shorts include Akira Ishida, Hiromu Mineta, Tetsuo Kanao, Hinata Tadokoro, Taiten Kusunoki, Wataru Takagi, Shin-Ichiro Miki, Shōya Ishige, and Noriko Hidaka.
English Dub Brings Familiar and New Talent
The English dub cast for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 is equally impressive, blending veteran actors with rising stars. Noteworthy names revealed include George Takei, Sonoya Mizuno, Nick Kishiyama, Lincoln Bonilla, Jimmie Yamaguchi, Mike Bodie, and Stephanie Hsu.
Further expanding the English voice roster are talents such as Brian Tee, Will Sharpe, Suzy Nakamura, Jonathan Lipow, Minami Iinuma, Gary Littman, Yukihiro Nozuyama, Shawn Gann, Major Attaway, Andrew Kishino, Patrick Seitz, Lee Shorten, Frank Todaro, David Chen, Nozomi Furuki, Ayaka Shimizu, Kaede Yuasa, Kimiko Glenn, Freddie Highmore, Masi Oka, Simu Liu, Carrie Keranen, Trevor Devall, Jennie Kwan, James Sie, and David Errigo Jr.
Nine New Tales from Renowned Studios
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 will consist of nine unique shorts, each brought to life by a different acclaimed Japanese animation studio. The studios contributing to this volume are David Production, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema Citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT STUDIO.
This installment marks a return to exclusively Japanese animation studios, a departure from Volume 2 which featured a global array of animation houses.
Returning Stories and New Adventures
Among the nine shorts, three will serve as continuations of stories previously introduced in Volume 1: “The Duel,” “The Village Bride,” and “The Ninth Jedi.” Fans of “The Ninth Jedi” have even more to look forward to, as a separate animated limited series continuing the story of Lah Kara, titled Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, is also slated for release in 2026.
Detailed synopses have been released for several episodes, including:
- “The Duel: Payback” (Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA): Directed by Takanobu Mizuno, this short sees Ronin facing his greatest foe, the Grand Master, with the help of unexpected allies. The English voice cast includes Brian Tee and Will Sharpe, among others.
- “The Song of Four Wings” (Project Studio Q): Directed by Hiroyasu Kobayashi, this story follows a rebel princess protecting a child on a snow-covered planet. Stephanie Hsu leads the English voice cast.
- “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” (Production I.G): Directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani, this short finds Kara adrift in space and encountering a mysterious droid on an abandoned ship. Kimiko Glenn, Freddie Highmore, and Simu Liu are part of the English voice cast, while Chinatsu Akasaki and Akira Ishida are among the Japanese cast.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 is produced by Lucasfilm and Disney+. The executive producers for the series are James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, and Justin Leach. Flannery Huntley and Kanako Shirasaki serve as producers for this volume.
