The official website for Rite Nekoha’s four-panel manga, 2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon (Japan, the Land of Cats in the Year 2200), has officially confirmed a television anime adaptation, scheduled to premiere on October 7. The announcement also unveiled the series’ main cast and production staff.
The feline-centric anime is set to broadcast and stream on TV Kanagawa and various streaming services, airing within the channel’s “Neko no Hitai Wide Show” programming block.

The story of 2200-Nen Neko no Kuni Nippon transports viewers to the year 2200, a future where Japan has transformed into a land predominantly inhabited by cats. This societal shift is attributed to a significant decline in the human birth rate. In this futuristic setting, cats have evolved to possess human-like abilities, capable of talking, learning, and holding jobs. The narrative centers on the daily lives of a high school girl and her rather argumentative feline companion. The manga, created by Rite Nekoha, originally debuted in Neko Tomo magazine in 2020.
