The announcement includes the voice actors for key characters, building anticipation for the revenge-themed fantasy.

Protagonist and Core Companions
Nina Tamaki will voice the protagonist, Light, the betrayed adventurer who gains immense power through his “Unlimited Gacha” skill. Joining him is Ikumi Hasegawa as Mei, a Level 9999 fighter summoned by Light.
Newly Revealed Cast Members
Five additional cast members have been unveiled, expanding the roster of Light’s powerful allies:

The anime series is directed by Katsushi Sakurabi and animated by J.C.STAFF. Hiroshi Ōnogi is handling the series composition and scripts, while Yukie Suzuki is responsible for character designs. The music for the series is composed by Ryō Takahashi.
The series is set to begin its broadcast in Japan on October 3, 2025. HIDIVE will stream the series in the United States.
Plot Overview
“Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon” follows Light, a human boy who is betrayed and left for dead by his former comrades in the deepest part of the Abyss, a perilous dungeon. Surviving the ordeal, Light awakens the true power of his “Unlimited Gacha” skill, which allows him to summon Level 9999 items and allies, including the powerful maid Mei. Three years later, Light has established his own kingdom within the dungeon, surrounded by loyal, beautiful, and immensely powerful warriors. Now a Level 9999 Overlord himself, Light plans to ascend to the surface and exact revenge on those who betrayed him.
Origin and Adaptation
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Shisui Meikyou and illustrated by tef. The series originally began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2020 before being picked up by Hobby Japan for print publication. An English version of the light novels is published by J-Novel Club. A manga adaptation by Takafumi Oomae is also ongoing, with Seven Seas Entertainment publishing it in English.
