The upcoming anime adaptation of The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest has announced new voice cast members as its October 4, 2025 premiere date approaches. Hikaru Midorikawa and Atsushi Abe are among the latest additions to the fantasy series, which centers on a disgraced magician seeking to prove his worth.
New Additions to the Cast
The latest cast revelations introduce two significant characters to the anime. Hikaru Midorikawa, known for his roles in various popular anime, will voice Eldas Miheira. Atsushi Abe will portray Prince Regulus Gardana. These actors join an already announced roster that includes Shuichiro Umeda as the protagonist Alec Ygret, Yurika Kubo as Yorha Eisenz, Masumi Tazawa as Krasia Annerose, and Masaki Mizunaka as Ornest Rain.
The Story of Alec Ygret: From Exile to Aspiration
The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest follows Alec Ygret, a court magician whose talent for support magic is deemed “worthless” by the crown prince, leading to his exile from the royal court. Jobless and disgraced, Alec reunites with former party members from his days at the magic academy, including Yorha, and embarks on a new journey to conquer dungeons and forge a new legend. The narrative focuses on themes of redemption, reunion, and the protagonist’s quest to prove his strength beyond his initial banishment.
Production and Release Details
The anime series is set to broadcast in Japan starting October 4, 2025, on TV Asahi’s IMAnimation programming block, BS Asahi, and AT-X. International audiences will be able to stream the series on Crunchyroll.
Studio GEKKOU is producing the animation, with Ken Takahashi directing the series. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is handling the series composition, and Yoko Sato is responsible for character designs. The music for the series is being composed by Diosta and High Speed Boy.
Kiro Akiyama will perform the opening theme song, titled “Quest,” while aruma will perform the ending theme, “Kakera” (“Fragments”).
Origin Story: Light Novel to Manga to Anime
The anime is an adaptation of a fantasy light novel series written by Alto and illustrated by Yuunagi. The original web novel began in October 2020. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Yuki Monji, has been serialized on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket service since July 2021, and an English language version is available via K Manga. As of July 2025, the manga adaptation has sixteen volumes.
