What is “My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s” About?
The anime adapts the popular light novel series written by Matsuri Akai and illustrated by Tōzai. The story follows Akira Oda and his high school classmates, who are suddenly summoned to another world. While most students receive powerful “cheat” abilities, Akira is only granted the seemingly mediocre skills of an “assassin.” However, his status quickly proves to be far superior to even the strongest “hero” profession.
Akira soon grows suspicious of the summoning King’s true intentions, leading to him being falsely accused of a crime and forced to flee. He must then utilize his deadly assassin skills to uncover the kingdom’s dark secrets.
Production Details
The anime television series is produced by TMS Entertainment and animated by Sunrise, a division of Bandai Namco Filmworks. Nobuyoshi Habara is directing the series, with Kunihiko Okada handling series composition and screenwriting. Character designs are by Hirona Okada and Kaori Saito, monster designs by Masahiro Yamane, and music composed by Satoshi Igarashi.
The opening theme song, “Issen” (Flash of Light), is performed by Vesperbell, and the ending theme song, “Like Gravity,” is performed by Bonnie Pink.
This same-day dub announcement allows global fans to experience Akira’s unique journey and struggles in another world without delay, further enhancing the accessibility of new anime content.
