The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Nanateru’s comedy manga, “Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!”, has revealed three additional voice cast members: Hikaru Tono, Saku Mizuno, and Sayaka Sembongi. The announcement was made during a pre-broadcast special livestream on Saturday, just before the series’ October 5 premiere.
Expanding the Voice Cast
Hikaru Tono, Saku Mizuno, and Sayaka Sembongi are joining the growing ensemble for “Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!”. While their specific roles were not immediately detailed in the recent announcement, they add to an already established cast. Previously announced key cast members include Hika Tsukishiro as the titular Alma, Ryota Suzuki as Enji Kamisato, and M.A.O as Suzume Yobane. Other supporting roles feature Rika Nagae as Makina and Hinaki Yano as Neon.
Diving into the World of “Alma-chan”
“Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!” centers on Alma, a high-performance, girl-type weapon created by two eccentric genius scientists, Enji Kamisato and Suzume Yobane. Despite her sophisticated design as a weapon, Alma possesses boundless curiosity and strives to understand what it means to be a family with her creators, whom she affectionately calls “Father” and “Mother.”
The anime is produced by Studio Flad, with Yasuhiro Minami directing the series. Yukie Sugawara is handling the series scripts, and Mika Yamamoto is responsible for character designs. Mito from the band clammbon is composing the music, and the opening theme song, “Dramatic Overlay,” is performed by ZAQ.
Premiere and Streaming Details
“Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!” is set to premiere on October 5, 2025, on AT-X and other Japanese networks, including Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS Asahi. For international viewers, Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime worldwide, excluding Japan and mainland China, as part of their fall 2025 anime simulcast lineup.
The anime is adapted from Nanateru’s original manga series, which was serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Comic Newtype website from July 2021 to February 2024. A sequel manga, titled “Alma-chan wa Kazoku ni Naritai Z”, began serialization on the same website in July 2024.
