The manga adaptation of Natsu Hyūga’s popular novel, “You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister” (Seijo ni Uso wa Tsūjinai), is slated to resume in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine’s March issue, following a three-chapter sidestory. The series, illustrated by Yo Asami, had concluded its previous run on July 4, with an announcement that a new series would commence soon.
The Return of Chloe, the Card Shark Priestess
Fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of Chloe’s adventures will be pleased to learn that the hiatus for “You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister” is drawing to a close. The manga, known for its unique blend of mystery, fantasy, and the protagonist’s sharp wit, will return in the upcoming March issue of Monthly Shonen Magazine.
A New Chapter for the “Sharp-Eyed Sister”
The previous “series” of the manga concluded on July 4, 2025, after adapting the original light novel by Natsu Hyūga, author of “The Apothecary Diaries”. The impending return is not merely a resumption of the previous storyline, but rather the launch of a new series, hinting at fresh narratives and challenges for Chloe. This development suggests that the manga might be venturing into original content beyond the initial novel’s scope, or adapting further volumes of the novel series if they exist.
What is “You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister”?
For those unfamiliar with the series, “You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister” introduces readers to Chloe, a novice priestess living in a sleepy countryside church. By day, she maintains an image of prim innocence, but by night, she transforms into a skilled card shark, using her exceptional observational skills and memory to win big at gambling dens.
Chloe’s Unexpected Calling
Her double life takes an unexpected turn when Heraldo, a rising star holy knight from the capital, seeks her out. He enlists her help to solve a two-year-old murder mystery that threatens the stability of the kingdom. Heraldo believes Chloe possesses a “Gift”—a rare magical blessing. However, Chloe’s real advantage lies not in supernatural powers, but in her keen intellect and sharp eyes. The manga follows her as she navigates the complexities of the royal palace, where her wits are her primary weapon against a den of devils.
