Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures has released the second promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Sou Akaike’s Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord light novel series, officially announcing additional cast members, key staff, the opening song, and confirming a January premiere.
The new video offers fans a deeper look into the highly anticipated series, building excitement for its debut early next year.
New Additions to the Cast
The second promotional video introduced several new voice actors joining the ensemble cast. Yōko Hikasa, Shion Wakayama, Kenyū Horiuchi, and Chikahiro Kobayashi have been added to the anime’s roster. Their roles within the narrative are expected to be detailed further as the premiere approaches.
Previously Announced Main Cast
These new additions will join the previously announced main cast members, who were revealed alongside the first promotional video. Yumi Uchiyama is set to voice the protagonist, Van, a character known for his intelligence and unique “Production Magic” skill. M.A.O will portray Till, Van’s personal maid and close confidante. Mariya Ise is cast as Khamsin, a character who develops strong loyalty towards Van after being saved by him.
Staff Details and Production Studio
While specific new staff members were not individually named in the latest announcement, Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures confirmed that the main staff for the anime has been unveiled. The anime adapts Sou Akaike’s light novel series, which originally debuted on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in May 2020. Overlap Bunko began publishing the light novel with illustrations by Kururi in September 2021, and a manga adaptation by Aoiro launched on Overlap’s Comic Gardo website in February 2022. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English.
Opening Song Unveiled
The second promotional video also revealed the opening song for the series. While the specific title and artist of the track were not detailed in the announcement, its inclusion in the promotional material gives viewers a taste of the anime’s musical direction. Fans can mark their calendars for January, as Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord is slated for a January 2026 premiere. This debut positions it as one of the early releases in the upcoming anime season. The anime’s full title in Japanese is Okiraku Ryōshu no Tanoshii Ryōchi Bōei: Seisan Majutsu de Na mo nai Mura o Saikyō no Jōkamachi ni. The story follows Van, a former Japanese salaryman reincarnated as the fourth son of a noble family, who uses his “Production Magic” to transform a small, overlooked village into a thriving fortified city after being banished.
