A Lovestruck Demon’s Isekai Romance Unfolds
The series centers on Yōki, a man who, after a traffic accident, finds himself reincarnated as a demon in a fantastical world. Unlike typical protagonists, Yōki doesn’t aim to become a Demon Lord; instead, he serves as a subordinate in the Demon Lord’s castle. His relatively quiet existence is upended when a hero’s party invades the castle. It is then that he encounters Cecilia, the party’s beautiful and kind priestess, and immediately falls deeply in love with her. Despite their opposing roles as demon and hero’s party member, Yōki resolves to confess his feelings, sparking an unusual and comedic romantic journey.

Origins: From Web Novel to Anime
The anime is based on Suisei’s original light novel series, which first began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō web publishing platform in July 2013. Futabasha later published three print volumes under its Monster Bunko imprint between October 2014 and August 2015. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Kairi, launched on Futabasha’s Gaugau Monster service in January 2021, and has since compiled into twelve volumes as of July 2025. The manga adaptation by Kairi is specifically credited for the original work of the anime. Crunchyroll will be streaming the series in 2026.
