Music production group Elements Garden, animation studio ENGI, and publisher Kadokawa have officially unveiled “Ghost Concert: Missing Songs,” a new TV anime slated to broadcast in 2026. This announcement positions the series as a successor in the “Song Battle Series” genre, following the popular Symphogear franchise.
A New “Song Battle Series” Emerges
The upcoming “Ghost Concert: Missing Songs” anime is based on Noriyasu Agematsu’s “GHOST CONCERT” indie project, which first launched in 2017 with the aim of “returning to his roots” for his 20th anniversary as a composer. Elements Garden will be producing all the music for this new project, continuing its strong association with music-centric anime.
Plot Details and Setting
The story of “Ghost Concert: Missing Songs” is set in a dystopian 2045, where human singing is strictly prohibited. All music is instead created and performed by an application named MiucS. The narrative follows Seria Aiba, a young girl with the unusual ability to see and touch spirits, who accidentally hears a forbidden song. This discovery leads her to an otherworldly being, a “Great Ghost.” The plot will involve a group of psychic mediums known as TERA and the phenomenon of “Possession Requiem,” with the tagline teasing, “This is the story of how I became a ghost.” A teaser visual depicts Seria with Cleopatra whispering from behind her, hinting at the supernatural elements and possession themes.
Key Staff and Cast Revealed
Masato Jinbo, known for his work on The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie and SUPER HXEROS, is directing “Ghost Concert: Missing Songs” and also serving as the series composer at studio ENGI. Masaaki Uikawa is handling character designs. The musical composition will be managed by Junpei Fujita, Seima Kondo, and Daisuke Horikawa from Elements Garden.
The main voice cast includes:
- Minori Fujidera as Seria Aiba
- Rina Hidaka as Cleopatra
A teaser trailer has already been released, showcasing supernatural action and providing a preview of “RES∞NALIST,” a duet song performed by Fujidera and Hidaka in their characters. This song is described as one of the in-story “Possession Requiem” pieces, which are key to the anime’s narrative.
