The Road to Conclusion for ‘Jaa, Kimi no Kawari ni Korosō ka?’
The final chapters will wrap up the narrative that has captivated readers since its debut in November 2018 in Bessatsu Young Champion. Akita Shoten released the manga’s eleventh compiled book volume on August 20, 2025.
Delving into the Manga’s Premise
“Jaa, Kimi no Kawari ni Korosō ka?” centers on Yūma Fujikura, a first-year high school student who endures relentless bullying. His life takes a dark turn when a classmate, Ryō Ameri—nicknamed “Amelie”—offers an unsettling solution: to commit murder on Yūma’s behalf if he so desired. This chilling proposition forms the core of the psychological mystery thriller, exploring themes of bullying, revenge, and moral ambiguity.
Creative Minds Behind the Series
Sōsō Sakakibara is responsible for the manga’s art, while Yukiaki Kurando pens the intriguing story. Both creators have other notable works to their names. Sakakibara previously illustrated “Can You Just Die, My Darling?” (Konya wa Tsuki ga Kirei desu ga, Toriaezu Shine -last-) with Majuro Kaname, which concluded in January 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing digitally distributes this manga in English. Kurando is also known for co-authoring “Dolly Kill Kill” with Yūsuke Nomura, a series with 11 volumes, also available in English from Kodansha USA Publishing.
The Prequel Series
Fans of the series also have a prequel manga, “Jaa, Kimi no Kawari ni Korosō ka? -Prequel-,” which explores the past of the character Amelie. This prequel, also by Sakakibara and Kurando, began serialization in August 2021 in Akita Publishing’s Dokodemo Young Champion magazine. Its seventh volume is slated for release on September 19, 2025.
