Fans of the acclaimed anime series Jujutsu Kaisen can mark their calendars: the highly anticipated third season, officially titled Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1, is slated to premiere on January 8, 2026. The new season will adapt the intense “Culling Game” arc from Gege Akutami’s popular manga, continuing the high-stakes battle against curses and formidable sorcerers.
The debut will begin in Japan on January 8, 2026, at 12:26 AM JST on MBS, TBS, and their affiliates. For international audiences, including those in the Americas, this translates to an earlier premiere on January 7, 2026, at approximately 7:30 AM PT or 10:30 AM ET, with new episodes streaming simultaneously on platforms like Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll has confirmed its exclusive worldwide streaming of the season, excluding Asia.
The Culling Game: A New Chapter of Chaos
The “Culling Game” arc plunges Jujutsu sorcerers into a twisted battle royale orchestrated by Kenjaku. The main objective for many participants, including Yuji Itadori and his allies, will be to fight off Kenjaku and liberate the powerful Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm. This arc is set to adapt key storylines from the manga, including “Itadori’s Extermination Arc,” “Perfect Preparation Arc,” and the “Culling Game Arc” itself.
The animation studio MAPPA, known for its high-quality work on previous seasons, is animating the third season. Shōta Goshozono is directing the season, with Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa returning as character designers, and Yoshimasa Terui as the composer. The production team has decided to split the third season into two consecutive cours, ensuring a thorough and high-quality adaptation of the complex narrative.
Early Glimpses and Key Voice Cast Additions
Before the full season premiere, fans have the opportunity to catch an early glimpse of the “Culling Game” through a special compilation film. Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, which opened in Japanese theaters on November 7, 2025, combines a recap of the “Shibuya Incident” arc with the first two episodes of The Culling Game Part 1. The film is scheduled to hit North American cinemas on December 5, offering both original Japanese and English dubbed versions.
The cast for the third season will see the return of familiar voices, including Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori and Yūma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro. A significant new addition to the cast is Koji Yusa, who will lend his voice to the impactful character Naoya Zen’in. A new teaser visual for the season, drawn by the MAPPA team, was released alongside the premiere announcement, depicting an intense face-off between Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu.
The anticipation for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is high, promising a continuation of the series’ gripping action and intricate plot.
