The new trilogy of films for Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club presents an entirely new narrative arc, set against the vibrant backdrop of Okinawa. The storyline centers around an event known as “School Idol GPX,” which unfolds after the events of the original anime series. The first installment of this film series premiered in Japan on September 6, 2024.
The “School Idol GPX” and Character Journeys
The “School Idol GPX” is described as an individual competition, which presents a unique challenge for the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club members. For characters like Ayumu, the idea of competing against her friends sparks conflicted feelings, adding a layer of emotional depth to the overarching plot.
